Milwaukee hosted a World Series game for the first time
American Family Field has been hosting baseball since 2001, when it opened as Miller Park. Until this October it had never hosted a World Series game — the Brewers had not won a pennant since 1982, and in 1982 they were still an American League club playing at County Stadium.
That is the fact that makes this month different. Milwaukee finished off the Los Angeles Dodgers in four straight games in the NLCS, the fourth of them a 6-4 comeback from 4-0 down at Dodger Stadium, and became the first club in history to sweep a best-of-seven series in which it trailed in every single game. A year after those same Dodgers swept them in this round.
So those two nights were not neutral events in Milwaukee. They were the first World Series games ever played inside that ballpark, and the cream home shirt was on the field for both — Milwaukee won them 3-2 and 5-4.
What the Brewers wear, and which shirt you are buying
The current Milwaukee home uniform is cream: a cream body with Brewers across the chest in navy script edged in gold, navy-and-gold trim on the sleeves, and a full button front.
