The Women's Jersey Guide: Fit, Cuts and Gifting

Quick answer: women's football shirts are their own sizing system, not a men's shirt in a smaller size. Our women's line is measured on chest in inches, nine sizes from XS (31.5-35in) to 5XL (63-68in). Measure once, match the chart, and the shirt arrives right - the chart, the cuts and five shirts that are new in right now are below.

The most common jersey mistake we see is not a wrong club - it is a wrong size bought out of hope. A women's fan shirt is cut and graded differently from a unisex one, which means the "M" you wear in a men's shirt tells you almost nothing. The good news: one measurement fixes it permanently.

Why isn't a women's small just a smaller men's small?

Because the pattern is different, not the scale. A women's cut is tailored through the waist and graded on bust/chest measurements, while a unisex jersey is a straight tube that relies on the wearer's shoulders to hold it up. Two shirts can carry the same letter and fit like different garments. That is why our women's line publishes a chest range for every size instead of hiding behind S/M/L - you buy the number, not the letter.

How to measure in sixty seconds

Run a tape around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, level all the way round. Snug, not tight. Write the number down in inches. Then match it below. If you sit between two sizes, take the larger - and if you want the shirt to work over a hoodie, take one more size again.

SizeChest (inches)Typical fit note
XS31.5 - 35Slim, close fit
S35 - 37.5Regular
M37.5 - 41Regular - the most common size
L41 - 44Regular, roomy through the body
XL44 - 48.5Relaxed
XXL48.5 - 53.5Relaxed
3XL53.5 - 58Roomy
4XL58 - 63Roomy
5XL63 - 68Roomy

Every women's product page carries the same chart, so the number you find today works on the next shirt too. For the men's and kids' equivalents, the six-league sizing guide covers all of them in one place.

Erling Haaland Norway 2026 home replica jersey in the women's cut - flag-cross red

The flag shirt in the women's cut - Norway 2026 home, nine sizes, free custom name-and-number.

Which women's shirts are new in right now?

Two stories worth wearing. From the national side: Norway's 2026 range - the flag-cross red home, the blackout away and the whiteout third, all in the women's cut, off the back of a World Cup summer that ended in the quarter-finals. From the club side: Manchester City's 26/27 home shirt with its first-ever gradient, and the 26/27 third kit a supporter designed using Puma's AI platform - the first fan-designed kit to be worn by a professional club.

Everything in the women's cut sits in our Women's Jerseys collection; the Norway rail is at Norway National Team and the City rail at Manchester City.

Gifting a women's jersey without guessing

Buying for someone else changes one variable - you usually cannot measure them. Three plays that survive that: the current home shirt of the club or country they actually follow (a safe bet, and the one they will wear most); the flag shirt - national team tops never go out of season, so a Norway red is never the wrong call in October; and the fan-designed third for the supporter who already owns the obvious shirt. If you know their usual clothing size, add one for a relaxed fit; if not, gift the shirt with the size-print still free - our 30-day returns cover a swap.

Personalisation: any name and number is free and adds 3-7 days in the workshop. For a Christmas arrival, personalised women's shirts should be ordered by the last week of November.

Frequently asked questions

Do women's jerseys fit the same as men's?

No. A women's cut is tailored rather than straight, and our women's line is sized on chest measurement in inches - nine sizes from XS (31.5-35in) to 5XL (63-68in) - rather than the men's XS-5XL bands. Take your chest measurement once and buy from the women's chart; the number on the label is the least useful thing about a jersey.

How do I measure my chest for a jersey?

Stand relaxed, run the tape around the fullest part of your chest and under your arms, keep it level and snug but not tight, and note the number in inches. Match it to the chart on the product page. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one - a fan jersey should skim, not cling.

What if I want the jersey to fit over a hoodie?

Size up once more than your measured size. The printed chest ranges assume a shirt-layer fit; adding a hoodie underneath takes up roughly one size of room, and a jersey that fits over a hoodie in October is the one that works in December.

Which women's shirts are in stock right now?

Five new ones: the Norway 2026 home in flag-cross red, the black away, the whiteout third - all in the women's cut - plus Manchester City's 26/27 home shirt and the 26/27 third kit that a supporter designed using Puma's AI platform. Every one is a fan version with free custom name-and-number.

Is a women's jersey a good gift?

It is one of the safest shirt gifts you can buy, provided you buy the right size. Three plays that work: the current home shirt of the club or country they actually follow, the national team flag shirt (always in season), and the fan-designed third kit for the supporter who already owns everything else.

When should I order for Christmas?

We dispatch in 1-3 working days and ship at 7-15 days standard or 5-7 days express. For a Christmas-week arrival, order standard by December 5 or express by December 15. Custom name-and-number printing is free and adds 3-7 workshop days, so personalised orders should be in by the last week of November.

Measure once. Wear it for years.
