Last updated: 10 October 2026 · matchups, kick-off times and broadcasters per NFL.com’s 2026 schedule release.
Thanksgiving 2026 is the first five-game Thanksgiving week in NFL history: a game on Wednesday night, the traditional tripleheader on Thursday, and the Black Friday game to close it out. For anyone planning to wear a jersey through all of it, there is one practical problem nobody writes about — you are going to be wearing it over a very large meal.
The five games
| Day | Matchup | Time (ET) | TV | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 25 Nov | Packers at Rams | 8:00 p.m. | Netflix | SoFi Stadium |
| Thu 26 Nov | Bears at Lions | 1:00 p.m. | CBS | Ford Field |
| Eagles at Cowboys | 4:30 p.m. | FOX | AT&T Stadium | |
| Chiefs at Bills | 8:20 p.m. | NBC | Highmark Stadium | |
| Fri 27 Nov | Broncos at Steelers | 3:00 p.m. | Prime Video | Acrisure Stadium |
The full slate is published in NFL.com’s 2026 viewing guide. Three of the five games involve a genuine first or a long-running streak, which is worth knowing before you decide whose shirt you are wearing.

The Thanksgiving sizing problem
Here is the thing about a Thanksgiving jersey that no buying guide mentions: it is the one day of the sporting year where the garment has to survive a full meal.
Every other jersey occasion is a standing occasion — a stadium, a bar, a tailgate. Thanksgiving is a seated one, and the seating happens around a table with turkey on it. That changes which cut you want:
- Do not size down. A fitted jersey is the wrong garment for the day. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
- The relaxed cut is a feature, not a flaw. NFL jerseys are patterned about a size loose because they are designed to be worn over pads — which, on Thanksgiving, makes them the correct shape for the occasion.
- Avoid anything marketed as a slim or athletic fit if the jersey is specifically for the holiday. Buy that cut for photographs, not for dinner.
Three traditions worth knowing
Three of this year’s games carry real history:
Bears at Lions — Detroit’s 87th Thanksgiving classic
No franchise has played on the holiday as often. This is Detroit’s 87th Thanksgiving game, and the fourth straight season the opponent is an NFC North rival. It is the 21st Thanksgiving meeting with Chicago — the second-most-played holiday fixture in NFL history behind Lions versus Packers — and Chicago leads that series 11-9. Detroit is 38-46-2 all time on the holiday and has lost eight of its last nine, which is either a warning or an opportunity depending on your colours.
Eagles at Cowboys — Dallas still has never beaten Philadelphia on the holiday
This is Dallas’ 59th Thanksgiving game and one of the better statistical curiosities of the season: the Cowboys have never beaten the Eagles on Thanksgiving. Philadelphia won the only two previous meetings — 27-0 in the 1989 Bounty Bowl, and 33-10 in 2014. Dallas does arrive on a four-game Thanksgiving winning streak and owns a 35-22-1 all-time holiday record, the best winning percentage of any team with a long history on the day.
Chiefs at Bills — the first Thanksgiving game ever played in Western New York
Buffalo has hosted a Thanksgiving game for the first time in franchise history, at the new Highmark Stadium. The Bills are 6-4-1 on the holiday across eleven previous appearances, all of them on the road. And the quarterback matchup is as even as it gets: Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen have split their ten career meetings 5-5, with six decided by one score.
Three jerseys for the three host cities
If you are dressing for the day itself, these are the three host cities on Thursday — Detroit, Dallas and Buffalo:
All ten teams in the Thanksgiving week slate are stocked — Packers, Rams, Bears, Lions, Eagles, Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills, Broncos and Steelers — grouped by team in the NFL hub. Printed names and numbers are free on every style, so a blank shirt with your own name costs the same as a stocked one; the custom jerseys page has the character limits.
Gravy, cranberry and a printed number
Thanksgiving is also the single worst day of the year for a jersey's graphics. Cranberry sauce and gravy are both the kind of stain that sets if you leave it, and a printed name set is the part of the shirt that suffers most from being scrubbed.
Three things worth doing before the day:
- Blot, do not rub. Rubbing pushes a printed edge up and leaves a permanent shadow where the graphic used to be flat.
- Cold water, inside out, gentle cycle — and never the dryer. Heat is what lifts applied graphics, and a holiday wash is exactly the wrong place to find that out.
- Treat it the same evening. Cranberry and red wine are the two stains that visibly set overnight.
The full routine, including a stain playbook, is in our jersey care guide. If the shirt is a gift, the jersey gift guide and the NFL jersey tiers guide cover the choice and the construction behind it.
Ordering timeline
Thanksgiving is 26 November, which leaves comfortable runway. In-stock jerseys dispatch in 1–3 days; delivery then runs 7–15 days standard or 5–7 express, and custom printing adds 3–7 workshop days before dispatch. For the holiday itself, standard shipping is fine if you order in early November. The one date that gets tight is the week before, when everyone who waited starts ordering at once — and the sizes that run out first are the ones people actually wear.
Frequently asked
Bottom line
Thanksgiving 2026 is the first five-game Thanksgiving week: Packers at Rams on Wednesday, the Bears–Lions, Eagles–Cowboys and Chiefs–Bills tripleheader on Thursday, and Broncos at Steelers on Black Friday. If you are buying a jersey for the day, buy your normal NFL size and do not size down — the cut is already about a size loose, and a relaxed fit is exactly what a seated holiday meal calls for. Order in early November to avoid the pre-holiday rush, and wash anything that meets the cranberry sauce the same evening.
When are the 2026 NFL Thanksgiving games?
Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, 26 November 2026, with the traditional tripleheader: Bears at Lions (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS), Eagles at Cowboys (4:30 p.m. ET, FOX) and Chiefs at Bills (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). The week also includes Packers at Rams on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday 25 November, 8:00 p.m. ET, Netflix) and Broncos at Steelers on Black Friday (Friday 27 November, 3:00 p.m. ET, Prime Video) — the first five-game Thanksgiving week in NFL history.
What size jersey should I buy for Thanksgiving?
Your normal NFL size, and if you are between sizes take the larger one. NFL jerseys are cut roughly a size loose because the pattern is designed to be worn over pads, which makes the relaxed fit the right shape for a seated meal. Avoid slim or athletic cuts if the shirt is specifically for the holiday.
Which teams play on Thanksgiving Day 2026?
Six: the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles at the Dallas Cowboys, and the Kansas City Chiefs at the Buffalo Bills. It is Detroit’s 87th Thanksgiving game, Dallas’ 59th, and Buffalo’s first ever hosted on the holiday.
Who won the 2025 NFL Thanksgiving games?
The Packers beat the Lions 31-24, the Cowboys beat the Chiefs 31-28, and the Bengals beat the Ravens 32-14.
Can I get a jersey in time for Thanksgiving?
Yes — comfortably, if you order in early November. In-stock jerseys dispatch in 1–3 days, standard delivery runs 7–15 days, and custom printing adds 3–7 workshop days. The window that gets tight is the final week before the holiday, when demand spikes and popular sizes thin out.
